Tanisha Hankerson, PsyD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Tanisha Hankerson’s approach to therapy is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), a form of therapy that treats problems by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors and thoughts. Collaboratively, she and her clients work together to identify and modify these emotions, behaviors and thoughts that interfere with their functioning and well-being.
She has diverse experience with adolescents, adults and seniors. She has an extensive forensic background, as well as community based clinical case management. In addition, Dr. Hankerson has worked with individuals who have both physical and mental disabilities. Overall, she strives to assist her clients with improving their quality of life by seeing the world through their eyes and helping them move towards empowerment.
Dr, Hankerson earned her Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, in 2008; she interned at the Will County Health Department. She was awarded her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She is licensed by the state of Illinois as a Clinical Psychologist.
